Thanksgiving is around the corner.
Family, food, football, and faith that our lives mean something besides work and business. The day when our friends and family gather to say thanks for all we have in life.
For our family, it’s the love of each other that play the starring role in our get-togethers. Here are *four* things we value during the holiday season.
Catching up with busy grown up kiddos and almost fully grown grandkids is the main attraction.
Going for walks in the Metro Parks, and gathering natural elements from the woods and meadows for the table centerpiece is always a highlight. Everything has to be used in the arrangements, no matter how big, bizarre or messy it may be. The proud look on a little one’s face when they see the pod or branch that they gathered is everything to us.
Recognizing those that have left us also have a special place at Thanksgiving. Whether it be a special recipe that reminds of us of a loved one, or any momento that makes the day special.
Putting old pictures of all the family members, whether they are present or not is always fun. Small frames with small pictures is the way to go. It makes for a fun laugh on guessing who is who from the images.
We at Maison Maison wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving, jam packed with love, conversations long overdue, great food, and most of all: gratitude.
